Overview
Located in the lush Ram Niwas Garden, Albert Hall Museum is Rajasthan's oldest museum, built in 1876. Designed in the Indo-Saracenic style, it was originally intended as a concert hall and is inspired by London's Victoria and Albert Museum. The museum features over 16 galleries showcasing a vast collection of historical artifacts, including ancient coins, pottery, carpets, and even an Egyptian mummy. History
The museum’s foundation was laid in 1876 during Prince Albert Edward's visit. It was completed in 1887 by architect Samuel Swinton Jacob. Initially intended to showcase local crafts, the museum later expanded to display artifacts from India and beyond, becoming a hub for cultural and artistic education.
