The Legend of Bhadra Maruti

The legend behind the temple is deeply rooted in Khuldabad’s ancient history. Once known as Bhadravati, the town was ruled by a devout king, King Bhadrasen. A lifelong devotee of Lord Ram, the king would sing soulful hymns in praise of the deity. According to the legend, Lord Hanuman, enchanted by the king's melodious voice, descended to earth. Overcome by the divine music, Lord Hanuman chose to lie down in a tranquil sleeping posture, known as the Bhav Samadhi, at the king's request, promising to stay forever and bless the king with eternal devotion.
