Overview
Situated on Frazer Road, near Patna Junction, Buddha Smriti Udyan is an expansive 22-acre urban park created by the Bihar Government to commemorate the 2554th anniversary of Lord Buddha. Inaugurated by the 14th Dalai Lama in 2010, the park houses the towering Patliputra Karuna Stupa, which enshrines the relics of Buddha. The park is also home to special Bodhi saplings brought from Bodh Gaya and Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka.
Designed by former Bihar CM Shri Nitish Kumar, Buddha Smriti Udyan is a peaceful haven for meditation and relaxation. The park is popular for its museum, which displays the ashes of Lord Buddha and Buddhist relics from around the world. Musical events and shows are frequently held, attracting crowds, especially in the morning and evening hours.

- Laser Show: A popular evening attraction featuring a vibrant multimedia display retelling the history of Bihar, from the Ramayana to post-independence.
- Meditation Centre: Modeled after Nalanda's monasteries, the centre offers 60 private meditation cells with views of the Patliputra Karuna Stupa. It also features a library and audiovisual hall dedicated to Buddhism.
- Smriti Bagh (Park of Memories): A serene space adorned with sculptures from various countries, symbolizing the global spread of Buddhism.
- Museum: A significant highlight, housing Lord Buddha's ashes and offering insights into his life through artefacts and interactive exhibits.
- Patliputra Karuna Stupa: The central feature of the park, a three-storey stupa enshrining Buddha’s relics in a glass enclosure.
- Bodhi Trees: The park is home to Bodhi saplings from Bodh Gaya and Sri Lanka, revered for their spiritual significance.

- By Train: Patna Junction is the closest railway station, located just 2 km away. A short auto or rickshaw ride will take you to the park.
