This peaceful temple complex stands as a testament to fine craftsmanship, with its exquisite marble carvings, intricate glasswork, and serene ambiance. Covering a vast area, the complex includes beautifully landscaped gardens and fountains, providing a spiritual escape for visitors and locals alike.
The temple is primarily frequented by followers of Jainism, but its tranquil atmosphere, complemented by the ornate design, also makes it an excellent spot for tourists seeking a moment of reflection. Visitors can explore the shrines, enjoy the quiet, and even feed the birds in the lush garden areas. The temple complex also features a souvenir shop for those wishing to take a piece of the experience home.
History
The Pareshnath Jain Temple was founded in 1867 by Rai Badridas Bahadur Mukeem, a renowned philanthropist, jeweler, and social leader of the Jain community. Inspired by his late mother, he envisioned creating this temple on a piece of land that originally included a pond. The temple’s construction began after the pond was filled in, and it was completed with guidance from Jain saint Kalyansuriji. The temple's highlight is the idol of Bhagwan Shitalnath, which Rai Badridas acquired after an extensive search and installed in the temple.
Architecture
This grand temple complex consists of four temples dedicated to Shitalnath Ji, Mahavir Swami Ji, Dadawadi, and Chandraprabhu Ji. The temples are designed with stunning marble, floral patterns, stained glass, and mirrors that add to their charm. Inside, the temple is adorned with chandeliers and exquisite paintings, creating a serene and divine atmosphere. Surrounding the temples is a well-maintained garden with flower beds, fountains, a fish reservoir, and a soothing stream, making it a perfect place for reflection and peace.
