Located just 32 km from Trivandrum, Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a pristine and diverse ecosystem nestled on the southern slopes of the Western Ghats. Covering 128 sq km, this sanctuary, established in 1958, is a must-visit for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and adventure seekers. The sanctuary is home to a wide array of species, including elephants, tigers, leopards, and over 176 bird species. Neyyar offers two guided trekking programs:
- A 6 km trek that includes a boat cruise followed by a journey through forests and tribal villages to reach Meenmutty Falls.
- A 12 km trek that also includes a boat cruise, trekking through dense forest areas to reach the Theerthakkara-Puivizhuthan Chuna, and ends with a visit to the deer park, elephant center, and other sanctuary attractions.
6. Boating at Neyyar Dam Lake
