Overview
Ganga Aarti is one of the most sacred and enchanting rituals held every evening on the ghats of Rishikesh, during dusk. While it takes place at multiple ghats, Parmath Niketan Ghat and Triveni Ghat are the most renowned spots. The riverbank comes alive with floating diyas, and the air is filled with the smoke of hawans. The sounds of temple bells, the chanting of mantras, and the spiritual atmosphere create a truly mesmerizing experience.

The ceremony is performed by Vedic students who offer prayers to Agni, the God of Fire. Dressed in saffron robes, the priests move large fire bowls in rhythmic motions along the riverbank. Devotees also release flowers and diyas into the river, contributing to the peaceful and magical setting of this extraordinary evening ritual.
