The Story of Bibi Kaulan

The Gurudwara Mata Kaulan is dedicated to the life and devotion of Bibi Kaulan, a remarkable woman whose life journey was marked by sacrifice, faith, and courage. Born into a Muslim family, she later embraced Hinduism and became a devoted disciple of Guru Har Gobind. Her unwavering faith led her to face immense challenges, including being disowned by her father for her spiritual devotion. He even declared her dead for following her beliefs.

After her family disowned her, Sant Mian Mir, a saint from her village, brought her to Amritsar in secret. In the holy city, Bibi Kaulan devoted the rest of her life to Guru Har Gobind's service, spending her days engaged in religious duties and inspiring others with her devotion.

Bibi Kaulan's contribution to the Gurudwara is deeply honored and remembered, and she was laid to rest in the western area of the Gurudwara complex, where her spirit continues to inspire pilgrims from all over the world.
