Nestled beside the River Gomti in Lucknow's Surajkund Park, Indira Gandhi Planetarium is a stellar attraction for science and astronomy enthusiasts. Commonly known for its Taramandal Show, this planetarium offers an immersive experience with science and space-themed exhibitions, 3D models, and interactive displays.
The building itself is a marvel, designed in the shape of Saturn, with five rings encircling its central body. The stunning architecture represents our solar system and is surrounded by a serene water pool, adding to the beauty. Visitors can explore various exhibits featuring models of Indian satellites and gain insight into renowned Indian scientists such as Aryabhatt and Varahamihira.
The highlight is the 3D space show, where you can virtually journey through space, floating among the stars and galaxies. This is an educational and fun experience for all ages.
How to Reach
The Indira Gandhi Planetarium is located in the Surajkund Park area of Lucknow, easily accessible by taxi, auto-rickshaw, or public transport. It is about 6 km from the Lucknow Junction Railway Station and can be reached in approximately 15 minutes.
