Jaswant Thada Overview
Located near the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Jaswant Thada is a magnificent marble cenotaph built in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Constructed by his son, Maharaja Sardar Singh, this memorial has become one of the most iconic landmarks of Jodhpur. The cenotaph stands as a tribute to the royal Marwar family and has evolved into a revered monument, also serving as the cremation ground for the Marwar royal family.
The stunning white marble structure is beautifully carved, set against a backdrop of red sandstone steps leading up to the entrance. - By Car: If you prefer a more private mode of transport, you can rent a cab or a self-driven vehicle to reach the cenotaph in about 30 minutes from the city center via NH62.
