The Jodhpur RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival) is one of the most vibrant and unique cultural celebrations in India. Held annually from 16th October 2024 to 20th October 2024, this 5-day festival takes place at the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, nestled in the heart of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Set against the backdrop of the enchanting Thar Desert and coinciding with the magical full moon night of Sharad Poornima, the festival brings together a stunning blend of Rajasthani folk music, dance, and art from both local and international artists.

Overview of Jodhpur RIFF

Jodhpur RIFF was first conceived in 2007 by the Maharaja of Jodhpur, HH Gaj Singh II, with the aim of promoting Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage and providing a platform for undiscovered talent. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the premier folk festivals in the world, attracting over 250 artists from various parts of India and beyond. The festival is a beautiful fusion of Indian and international music, with performances that showcase both traditional and contemporary styles.

The festival is a charitable initiative, supported by two of India’s most prominent heritage trusts, the Mehrangarh Museum Trust and the Jaipur Virasat Foundation. It is also recognized by UNESCO as a People’s Platform for Creativity and Sustainable Development. The Jodhpur RIFF is not only about mesmerizing performances but also serves as an educational platform with interactive sessions and workshops during the day.
