Though the temple attracts devotees throughout the year, Mondays are considered the most auspicious and are therefore the busiest days, with a large number of visitors coming to seek blessings. The temple becomes a hub of spiritual activity, especially during the Shivratri festival, drawing large crowds of worshippers.

Mankameshwar Temple Legend

According to Hindu mythology, the Mankameshwar Mandir is located on the very spot where Lakshman, the brother of Lord Rama, visited after leaving Sita in exile. It is said that this site was a place of peace and serenity, which is why it became so significant in Hindu traditions.

The temple was later built by King Navdhanu after a divine vision led him to recognize the spiritual importance of the location. Unfortunately, the temple was completely destroyed during the 1100s by invaders from Yemen. However, about five centuries ago, the temple was rebuilt by the Naga monks, restoring its sanctity and grandeur.
