Mecca Masjid, one of the oldest and largest mosques in Hyderabad, stands as a monumental symbol of the city’s rich Islamic heritage. History:

Architecture:
The mosque's architecture is an impressive fusion of grandeur and detail. The main prayer hall, soaring 75 feet high and 180 feet long, can accommodate thousands of worshippers. The 15 ornamental arches on its ceiling and the Belgian crystal chandeliers add a touch of elegance. Carved verses from the Holy Quran and floral motifs further highlight the mosque's unique Qutb Shahi style.
Inside, octagonal columns support arched balconies and spired domes, with five pathways leading to the tombs of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. The mosque also houses a sacred strand of Prophet Muhammad's hair and is a place where devotees can feed pigeons, believed to bring blessings.

Named after the holy city of Mecca, the Mecca Masjid is considered a spiritual landmark. Its foundation stone was laid by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, and its sanctum houses sacred soil from Mecca.
