Overview
Located in the River Bank Colony of Gomti Nagar, the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden (formerly known as the Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens) is one of Lucknow's most prominent attractions. Established in 1921, this 71.6-acre zoo is home to a wide variety of animals, including the majestic Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Lion, and Himalayan Black Bear. The zoo also features an array of activities, such as a toy train ride, and houses the Uttar Pradesh State Museum, displaying fascinating Awadh artefacts.

The Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden is located just 1 km from Lucknow city center, making it an 8-minute walk from the heart of the city. You can also take autos, cycle-rickshaws, or cabs to reach the zoo. The nearest metro station is Hazratganj Metro, approximately a 20-minute walk away.
