Overview
Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, nestled in the Pauri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, is one of the most revered temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located about 7 km from Swarg Ashram in Rishikesh, it is renowned for its deep spiritual significance. It is believed that this is the very spot where Lord Shiva consumed the poison halahala during the churning of the ocean, which turned his throat blue and earned him the name "Neelkanth."
How to Reach
You can reach the temple via a scenic route from Lakshman Jhula or take a taxi for a convenient and affordable ride. Pilgrims often offer water from the sacred Ganga as part of their prayers.
