The name Dasham (or Dassam) is derived from the Mundari language, where "Da:" means water and "song" means pouring. The name originally was Da: song, referring to the process of water pouring over the rocks, but over time, it became known as Dasham Falls.

The best time to visit Dasham Falls is from July to March, especially during the monsoon season when the waterfall is in its full glory.
