How to Reach Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park
The Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is located just a short distance from the heart of Darjeeling. Here's how you can reach the zoo:
- By Taxi: You can hire a taxi from central Darjeeling. However, cars are not allowed to drive to the entrance of the zoo.
- Walking: If you prefer walking, take Jawahar Road from Mall Road and walk for about 30 minutes uphill to reach the zoo. Alternatively, you can approach the zoo via Lebong Cart Road, which lies just below the zoo.
- Battery Operated Carts: For a more comfortable journey, battery-operated carts are available from Gorkha Bhawan to the zoo. These carts run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and accommodate up to 8 people. The charge is INR 20 per person for a one-way trip.
