Priyadarshini Planetarium Shows & Timings
The planetarium runs several shows designed to enlighten and engage audiences with the vastness of the cosmos. The most popular show is "Man and the Universe", which delves into humanity’s journey in the field of astronomy and explores major breakthroughs. The show offers a visual feast, taking viewers on a journey through various planets and their atmospheres, all while demonstrating the birth of the universe.
The shows are held in two languages: English and Malayalam. Here’s the show schedule:
- Malayalam Shows: 10:30 AM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM
- English Show: 12:00 PM (daily)
The planetarium’s full-dome theatre ensures that visitors enjoy an immersive experience, with end-to-end projections, high-quality surround sound, and impeccable audio-visual effects. The air-conditioned auditorium adds to the comfort of the visitors.
Apart from the regular shows, the planetarium also features 3D and 6D shows, a thrillarium, laser shows, and a musical fountain in the evening. For a deeper exploration, visitors can enjoy a Night Sky Observatory session on Thursdays and Fridays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

How to Reach Priyadarshini Planetarium
By Car:
The Priyadarshini Planetarium is conveniently located at PMG Junction in Palayam, right in the heart of Trivandrum. You can easily reach the planetarium by hiring a cab or auto rickshaw from any part of the city. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
By Public Transport:
For those preferring public transport, you can take a bus to either KSRTC Depot or the PMG Junction Bus Stop, both of which are within a 10-minute walk from the planetarium.
