Dedicated to the Sun God, it was established in 1988 by renowned industrialist G.D. Birla. Designed in the tradition of the famous Sun Temple at Konark in Orissa, this temple is a stunning blend of red sandstone and white marble, offering a mesmerizing sight to visitors.

History of Sun Temple, Gwalior
The foundation of the Sun Temple was laid on 19th January 1984, and it took just over four years to complete, with the temple being inaugurated on 23rd January 1988. Originally called Tapovan Garden, the area was later renamed Surya Van or Surya Garden to honor the Sun God. Inspired by the iconic Sun Temple in Konark, this temple holds significant religious importance, and is now one of the most revered shrines in Gwalior.
