The Tomb of Tansen in Gwalior stands as a tribute to one of India's greatest musicians, Tansen, who lived during the reign of Emperor Akbar in the Mughal era. A master of Hindustani classical music, Tansen was not just an eminent vocalist in the Mughal court but also one of the nine gems (Navaratnas) of Akbar's legendary court.
